The text Water and Dreams by Gaston Bachelard discusses the psychological advantage of using natural water as a mirror. It gives more innocence to the pride we have in our private contemplation and provides opportunity for open imagination. The precise analytic narcisim of a brightly lit reflection in a geometric mirror is an impure/unnatural image of the self.
Here, I consider a geometric water mirror as a current social mirror. Rather than natural, lake water, it is filled with private enterprise water that claims to have the taste of purity.
